Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Occassional clicking noise when backpedaling or acceleration: chain is too tight?

Seems like I'm going on opposite ends of the spectrum, first my chain was way too lose and stretched from age so I bought a new one and it was great times for the first few days until this..

your cog and chain ring are probably worn and the new chain is obviously not worn, it's usually recomended to replace the whole drive-train at once, that way everything wears together and fits perfectly

too tight or the chainline's off, or soyboy's right. but my answers are cheaper.

Also, your frame might be broken, but you would probably know that - check anyway.

Mine clicks every once in a while as well, its really annoying considering the drivetrain is new.

...or your bottom bracket cups may be loose, or the bearings may be shot, or your pedal spindles may need greased and tightened, or your chainring bolts are loose, or your cranks aren't interfacing well with your bb spindle (don't just tighten the crank bolts... remove the cranks and reinstall everything), or your rear wheel may need tensioned...

Damn I miss Pittsburgh!

i had some clicks that weren't there the day before. day two they were worse. it was loose chainring bolts. stick an allen wrench in there and see if you can spin them.
