Although it's not exactly the most lofty goal, one thing I aspire to in 2007 is to watch more movies. Old, new, whatever genre, I don't care. So let's have 'em -- a simple list of any length, ranked or unranked, with no explanation or justification required (but provide one if you want).

My uncle recently found a magazine's listing of the top 100 movies of all time and placed any of those movies he hasn't seen yet on his wishlist. I recently rediscovered the joy of reading (The Da Vinci Code) and am now refusing to watch any movie that's based on a book I haven't read yet.

from childhood until now:
King Kong (Jessica Lange and Jeff Bridges version - yeah, that one)
Airplane
Fox and the Hound
Francis
Tootsie
At Close Range (I'm going in order of time, but if ranking, this would be #1 - Sean Pean, the late Chris Pean and Chistopher Walkens are all superb)
Sixteen Candles/Pretty in Pink/Breakfast Club
Less Than Zero
Spinal Tap
Monty Python - Life with Brian/Search for the Holy Grail
The Princess Bride
Raising Arizona
The English Patient
Red/White/Blue (with Red being my favorite)
Gross Pointe Blank
Waiting for Guffman/Best in Show

Okay...there are more, but these are some that come to mind. My favorite horror film still is Halloween (the first film only). If I hear that music, I still get goose bumps.
Office Space - underrated comedy
The Godfather 1&2
I even like #3
But the best is the Godfather Saga , that is both 1 &2 edited together in chronological order...

Yeah...it was on A&E or something like that, right? It had some cool scenes like the one where Fabrizio (the guy who blew up the car with Apollonia in it -- what a good looking woman she was) gets blown up.

+1 on Pan's Labyrinth. I saw it twice this last weekend at home. Yes, the ending did make me cry.
Last night I saw Clint Eastwood's new film, Letters From Iwo Jima. Awesome film. The film is entirely in Japanese from their perspective, with English subtitles, of course. Highly recommended. Running time: 141 minutes.

Of course this is always subject to change especially since I've forgotten good movies and wil later remember and I keep seeing new ones I really like.
My list is based upon movies at any time, I will sit down and watch if playing... and as you can tell I am a Sci-Fi fan:
1) The Fifth Element (multi-pass!)
3) LOTR Trilogy
4) War of The Worlds (with Tom Cruise)
5) Any Monty Python Movie
6) South Park Movie and Team America
7) Brazil
8) Independance Day
9) Good anime such as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Metropolis and Howl's Moving Castle.
10) Good animation - love Shrek, the new Happy Feet, also good Disney like Mulan or Finding Nemo, Monster House was great.
11) Any Kevin Smith movie such as Clerks, Dogma etc.
12) Alot of foreign movies - the popular such as Hidden Dragon Crouching Tiger, and not so popular like the Red Latern, alot of french films anything with Gerard Depardieu and so forth.
Actually I like ronjon 10's list as well.
New movies I would like to see again:
A Scanner Darkly, United 93, Lady In The Water, Clerks II
Movies I never ever have to see again nor want to:
The Engish Patient, The Fountain (what the heck was that about anyway?), Momento well the list can go on and on....

Cant wait to see this film. I 'read' the book on CD 'Flags of our Fathers. This is an interesting topic for a movie and I realy like the idea of having both sides of the story. Oh, and I am a big Eastwood fan.
