I voted yes. I visit there daily, mainly just read. The wealth of information available there is far, far, far superior to here at BikeForums (no offense to anyone here).

I go there for reviews but i feel there's a better community here.

In terms of mountain biking, obviously. But you also have to understand that this site has alot more roadies than mtbikers.

I visit almost everyday and just read too. Don't post alot.

I dont post there too much unless I need some info. BikeForums is a better community and more active while MTBR has a lot of knowledge. Anyway I dont really like MTBR, dont like their posting interface. Just my opinion though

I used to be pretty active there but this forum takes up the majority of my free time these days. I still go there and check out the regional forum from time to time to see if there are any rides or gatherings planned in my area. I've made some pretty good friends on that forum that I really enjoy riding with.

I visit there regularly - lot's of useful info & reviews. Sometime MTBR can answer a question I have - so no need to post it here.

I've think that MTBR is more categorized and thus a better forum for beginners as your "topic" is easier to find. BikeForums.net is typically more topical.

Though, I have to say that my favorite forum on MTBR is the 29er area. There is no analogue here. Conversely, MTBR really, really needs a Winter Forum.

No chance. I hate the layout, and I didn't like the atmosphere, although that could have changed since my initial impression several year ago.

right! there are 3 or 4 specific forums i check there daily (or more).... if i have time i'll do the whole "view new posts" thing like i do here...

and to the one who said there's more roadies here.... right.... i got a lot of roadie info here... but i do get more mtb info there! and i LOVE the regional section! i can ask about MTB ride areas and get lots of good input!!!!!

I guess for me, when I was into posting a lot of mtb specific I went to ridemonkey. VERY west coast crowd there that more suited what and where I ride.

I'll go there to read the reviews, but I avoid posting. A lot of the folks there are wound up pretty tight and are very easily offended. On the opposite end of the scale is the Dirt Rag forum. Check the Hang Out section and you'll see what I mean. Another forum I tend to avoid is Pinkbike - I swear half the posts are from 12-year-olds. Sifting through the morass of crap to find a decent informative post is truly not worth the effort. They have a regional forum for XC in my area, so I check that in May to see if the trails have dried out.

I frequent MTBR for very specific research. For example for the Turner I bought, I spent a lot of time lurking in the Turner forum. When I first got my Fox fork, I went into the suspension forum to look for setup tips. Other than that I still lurk in the Turner forum.

I did follow a pretty explosive thread that Pete had started under an alter-ego but it appears to have caused him to be banned there (alter ego and 'Pete' account) and unfortunately I don't know what his new ID is.

Me. Like it, and far prefer it to every other bike forum I hang out on. I've met and ridden with quite a few people on emptybeer, which probably helps with prefering it. A far lower level of inanity than many others as well. (see Pinkbike for reference)

Here is more for entertainment purposes, and the fixed gear forum. Emptybeer is for good tech info, great photos and ride reports, reviews or trail and equipment, and hooking up with others to ride. There is a very large braintrust of bike knowledge over there.

Regional forums are awesome! The NorCal forum is very alive and I love seeing videos and pics from my local trails :)

I voted "yes" by accident - forgive me, I just got off an 11 hour shift at work. I hop over to MTBR once in a while, but I wouldn't call myself an active member. I'll maybe browse through there once every couple weeks.

Yes, much more in-depth when it comes to the "Manufacturer" threads. Great blogging. Find it very helpful and enjoy helping others there also.

Yep, i like the Australian / New Zealand Section (regional forum) aswell as the specific threads. Much more detailed and when i have a question to ask, its asked there and not here.

I like both BikeForums and MTBR equally although for me, more people closer to home roam over there.

I am a member and visit it just as much as i do with bikeforums. The forum is great and you can't go past the reviews section.
