Track Cycling: Velodrome Racing and Training Area - Korean Keirin...

My sister attends grad school and has a few Korean classmates that go home during breaks and I'm thinking this might be a good opportunity to pick up an njs frame.

I'm aware of atleast one Korean frame that I've seen on velospace.org and I'm interested in what frame builders exist and where they might be found in the country. Thanks.

I am an English teacher in Korea and I might be able to help you find something. There are a bunch of used frames kicking around at Procycle in Seoul. I was there a few weeks ago and almost got a pretty banged up Corex President frame for W200,000. I would have bought it but it didn't have a fork and I discovered that it had a slightly bent top tube from a crash. They guys at the shop offered to send it back to the builder to straighten out the frame and give it a new paint job for W400,000 but it seemed like a lot of work and I already have a track frame so I declined. That frame was a 59 and the only one in the shop that I could ride. It is a really big frame for korea but apparently it belonged to a High School student, not a Gyung Ryung racer. The rest of the frames were in much nicer shape but were really small prob 48cm to 55cm. I have been thinking about buying up a bunch of the used frames and either bringing them back when my contract is up here, or maybe shipping them to someone who can forward them on to their new owners. The guys at the shop are super friendly and the shop is amazing. They have so many amazing bikes there. More cool track frames than I have seen in one place and tons of road stuff as well. I will post pictures as soon as I get them hosted.

They also had the track version of this bike but it wasn't built up and I couldn't get a decent photo of it because it was hanging from the ceiling with all of the others.

I would love to get some stuff from Korea. What do the prices come to with our exchange?

W1000 is about $1.08 so W400,000 is about $432.00. I am seriously considering buying 4 or 5 frames and selling them in the U.S. If I bought up a bunch of used frames from this shop I could probably negotiate a better deal but the shipping may be a problem. I don't really want to try and turn a huge profit but it would be cool if I could get a frame for my self out of it.

Corex and Interpro. Cello also makes track frames but I don't think they are certified.
