Mountain Biking - Cant. & V Brake posts on the back.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Can I remove these posts that are attached to the frame? I got the ones off my Fox fairly easily, but the ones on the frame were giving me more resistance so I decided I'd ask before cracking/breaking something. It looks like the paint is adding some resistance as well.
Thoughts?

I believe that the posts on the frame are usually welded, so I think you're outta luck mate.

....well if you're really bored?
and Math, do you mean the places where the breaks fit on, where they pivot? I think that they are the same thing that jtown is refering to.

yes i am reffering to these studs that seem to be screwed on the brake tabs. I cant remove them even with full force.

Most are NOT welded in, but most are epoxied, or Lock-Tited (is that a word?). They are designed to be removed, but I would double check before I brought out the BIG wrench with the appropriate manufacturer of your frame!

Studs should come out, though sometimes they put up a fight.
I just emailed specialized and they said .... yes .... the studs should come out, but they recommend plugs to keep the threads clean. hmm ... time to break out the bigger wrench.
