Best: finding a good lady, getting back into riding, getting my '74 Raleigh, learning a lot of new things, getting my MS, starting my Roth IRA, and building up my fixie flip-flop to close out the year.
Worst: my girl breaking her arm and being unable to ride for a few months, living in a town that still has winter, my car getting hit twice... that's about it. A pretty good year!

Worst:

Getting a collapsed lung while sitting at my desk and having to spend 3 nights in the hospital and a month recovering, crashing twice and breaking my hand and getting many stitches, being bikeless as a result. Boredom, angst, loneliness, etc. like every other human.

Best:

Dating an awesome new girl who I met when she drove me to the ER after the first wreck (we're still together, I'm very optimistic), getting a good job in loss prevention for a big dept. store, going to geology field school (8 week camping trip out west with the University), getting a check from the insurance co. for a new bike, being alive and happy at the end of the december.

Best: Meeting a girl I truely loved, having lots of great sex, and not having a job/school and ****ing off for the year.

Worst: losing a best friend because I fell in love with his girlfriend, finding out the girl I fell in love with didn't have the same feelings, having to move to NC, and getting in trouble with the law (court date in January). Ugh.

It was a rough/emotional year.

Oh, I thought this was bike **** only. Then the worst was definitely losing two of my uncles to cancer. And the best would be summer vacation. Best time of my life.

Worst: My favorite bike to look at in the world (my bike) is too small, and I finally don't deny it anymore, and I agree that it is causing me back/neck/shoulder/knee pain.

Best: The bike I just built as a winter beater with no care in the world as to what it looked like, is now my favorite (not really, but close), because it actually fits me and I now ride fixed gear with a lower ratio and two brakes instead of none.

Best: Moving to a new place, and starting a career I love.

Worst: Losing a girl I love, and then dating a string of girls that could never measure up to the one I love.

Best: Discovering fixed gear riding over the summer and finding places like this to discuss and learn more.

Worst: Having to read some of the discussions on this forum that go absolutely nowhere. Actually...the worst would be losing one of my best friends to a suicide. the second worst would be getting real drunk, yelling at my girlfriend, her friends and her brother...riding home...crashing...waking up to what would end up being a horrendous scar on my knee. having said girlfriend dump me after 3 years (months later and only marginally related to that night). and as born on a bus has wisely stated....that string of girls afterwards is always very dissappointing....you almost resent them for not measuring up. whoa!! here's where i stop giving way too much info....

back to the best: building up my first and second fixed gear bikes and building up my first road bike.

edit: of course this makes me a bad uncle, but the birth of my second niece has gotta be tops!
