2 spare tubes and a bunch of tamales!:D
This year, we decided to skip on gifts for the adults. Only for the kids. Was a lil boring so next year, we'll prolly go back to drawing names atleast. We have a big get together with the family for a tamale Eve. Somehow, it seems we are always the ones to help. Other relatives show up after the tamales are done. Is that coincidence?..Ma doesn't worry about it only cause Gina always shows up to help. Everyone loves Gina cause she's real good at spreading!:D

I also got a pair of thinsulate gloves, $100 which I'll likely use to buy a headlight, the usual after shave/soaps from grandma have yet to arrive, and family from Vegas that came to visit after we haven't seen each other for a good 8-9 years gave me a Las Vegas coffee cup. :)
I got a cd media cabinet (boring), a new fender electric guitar - and guess what - Tamales! :p
I also got about 10 solid chocolate things... I guess they are trying to fatten me up !
I bought myself some new shoes also... :)
I bought myself some bike stuff for xmas, no one else was going to do it, so I took things into my own hands.

Teehee. I have the 5050s on the new bike so now I have two pairs.
I prefer to call them calf gougers.
I got something nice -- although a little different. I got an emergency call to do a notarization on Christmas Eve. And of course, I did it
Awesome ! This is what not only the spirit of the holidays is all about, but what the spirit of goodwill and being kind to each other should be about all year.
Kudos !

Also got $265 in gift cards to the LBS-can't decide whether to get an overhaul for the roadie like I had planned or to put a new roadie on layaway. Suggestions? I would probably be getting either an entry level Trek or Specialized as that is what they carry.http://www.bikeforums.net/%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n205/oleanshoebox/DSCN0150.jpg%5B/IMG%5D

I got something nice -- although a little different. I got an emergency call to do a notarization on Christmas Eve. And of course, I did it -- as a servant of the People of the State of California, I cannot refuse, even if it is on a holiday and outside of regular business hours. People can't always control when emergency legal/financial things come up, and have to be done RIGHT NOW, or they risk forfeiting their property (like their house). And I only charged him the statutory fee ($10), because I was going to that area anyway in order to go to Mass last night. Another notary he'd contacted was going to charge him $60 for the same service. Fortunately, a friend of his told him "nuts" and called me instead.
And this just served to remind me that in spite of how down on myself I sometimes get because of my perceived failures and short comings, this is the essence of who and what I am as a person -- I am the kind of person who will drop everything and drive 25 miles on a holiday evening to perform a small public service for someone in need, and do so joyfully, grateful that I can be of service to someone. (It was a small thing to me, but it really mattered to this guy, because it was about his house, and ensuring that he maintained legal title to his home.) And that reminder was probably the best gift I could have possibly received.

nothing for the bike since we only asked for couples gifts, but my birthday is next month so that's when I get toys (I hope). My new wife did give me herself wrapped in only 2 red ribbons, but I'm not going to post pics of that! Sorry.

Mary Jane (http://www.skiwinterpark.com/mountain/maryjane/trail+maps/index.htm) (as of 12/21/06)
http://www.skiwinterpark.com/NR/rdonlyres/CD9C76C5-3C42-47A4-B043-0BF3C1C2A477/0/winter_wonderland_420.jpg
On Mary Jane (which is just the back mountain for Winter Park) there are no sissy little 'Green' runs, there are only Black and Blue routes that start at the top of the Parsenn's Bowl at 12,060 feet and glide down 2600 feet of waist deep powder.
Didn't get anything bike-related this Christmas. Still plan on buying myself some nice lights in January, though. My parents bought me a 17" MacBook Pro. My sisters bought me a bunch of clothes in an attempt to make me dress in a more fashionable manner. That's about it. I am also thinking about buying myself Sim City 4. (Yes, the game is several years old already.)

Brings back memories, use to ski the Jane before there were lifts, we would ski the glades off the top of Winter Park, down to 7 mile trail coming down from Berthoud, then ski the trail back to the base of WP. And repeat. :D :D :D :D

I got a long sleeve Irish flag cycling jersey. Cool.
I also got stuff about a month ago: Compact camelback, 2 long sleeve base layers, cycling wind jacket that changes to a vest, knee warmers and a cap.
I also got the keys to our new house on Friday, moved in, began simple renovations and cleaned up for our first Christmas dinner at the new place.
Overall, a very joyful Christmas!

^ My mom, knowing pears are my favorite fruit, gave me a box of "Royal Riviera" pears (apprently rare) for Christmas, which was wonderful since Bartletts aren't in season yet. The Royal Rivieras are large and delicious!
As for something to love, you need a new bike to love, right? I don't know about you, but considering what part of me rests on my bike for hours at a time, I feel like I have a pretty intimate relationship with mine.
I was doing a solo ride down Santiago Canyon today and was returning via Irvine Blvd. I decided to stop in at Performance where I got a pair of these:
http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=16435&estore_ID=959##
They were marked down from $80 to $50. I guess I'll have to do some real touring now. :)

 Good point! Now, who is going to love (or lust) me enough to buy me a Madone?? Jason, damnit, you HAVE to come to the Bloat Ride so I can start working on you and manipulating you! Okay, so I'm a little more "bloated" than normal, but I'm back on my diet tomorrow! :o :p :D
