Is there anything unique about that particular headset? Wouldn't any other headset of the correct diameter and type work?

There were a couple of plastic rings that I guess were supposed to be retainers. But I don't think I got them installed quite right. I've never seen them in another headset. I assumed they existed because of the angle that the headset is at.

I've been looking for a headset bearing set for a Giant Stiletto. There were a couple of small plastic parts included that have broken. I know its silly to try and get them all by themselves, so I'm looking for the whole set and hopefully installation instructions.

My local Giant dealer wasn't able to help. Is there a way to contact Giant directly. Or should I just keep checking other dealers till I get lucky? Any help is appreciated.

The Giant Stiletto will use a standard 1 1/8" Threadless headset. Threadless headsets are common on all Down hill and higher end Moutian bikes. The one that came with the bike is a cheape. I could never keep mine from binding, preventing "no hands" riding. I purchased a Cane Creek S3, and 3, extra 5 mm x 1 1/8" metal specers all from jensenusa.com it now is 100% better, the instrictions come with the new headset. Just be sure to pry off the old taper seat from the lower crown and put the S3's seat with seal on. the S3 is a good sealed ball bearing MTB unit. The plasitc things that broke on you are just the spacers, get metal ones from www.jensonusa.com (http://www.jensonusa.com) without the spacers the long headtube will not tighten properly. ;)
