Hi. i just got this frame, a NOS Merckx that I'm guessing early to mid eighties. Any help that anyone can offer with year/model is greatly appreciated. The serial# is Z6133, and a picture of the Columbus sticker is attached. Thanks for any help, and Happy holidays.
Columbus SL, and one set of bottle bosses? Professional Road or possibly early Corsa. Post the serial number (bottom bracket, left and right side) and I can confirm that. Unlikely to be later than 1986/87.
The tube decal you posted is older than that frame. You sure it isn't the decal with columbus in a blue bar (and a blue border)?

Thanks for your help, here are some more pictures
The sideway stamped P is usually Professionals, and the C usually Corsa's. I'll go out on a limb and guess its transitional, and probably late 85 or 86.
Odd bottom bracket -- don't think I've seen a Merckx of the era without some built in cable routing on the bb -- be it grooves, circular stops, or over the bb tabs. Production was still fairly small, so there are tons of little variations in bottom bracket types, seat stay finishing, fork crown, etc during the mid 80's. Even still...any signs of over-the-bottom-bracket cable routing? Could also just be a leftover bottom bracket from before their switch to routing under.
