Anyone not working on Thursday who would like to do a few loops in GP with me? I hope to get out there mid morning and ride until I pass out. I'm so bloated right now, I can't wait until Saturday to ride! :o Here is what it would look like:

Meet: 11:00amish
Roll: As soon as we take off
Location: Lot K, Zoo parking lot
Distance: At least 25, hopefully more
Route: Full loop around the park, then up into the canyons, up to Observatory, down and back up Casta de Ville (other side of canyon), back down toward Greek Theater, out on Los Felix for short jump to bike path and back. We can do the loop again if we really want to.

I forgot how much nicer this climb was as I had always avoided riding on Los Feliz Blvd heading west to get to the entrance of Ferndell Park. This was a nice clockwise loop for me. :)

We'll do it again, Luwin. Besides, I'm assuming you will be spending time with your little girl. I'm almost tempted to offer to babysit so that you could do the ride (and I'd get to play with the cutest little girl in the world). But I'm too puffy and bloated and HAVE to work some of it off. :o

She's a lil shy about forum rides. All you mtn goats scare her! Plus I have a group of people that sit home and weep when I don't take 'em out to ride! We plan to do the SART on Wed and Thurs. Maybe only on Thurs. if it rains.:(

I'm hoping to get her in the mtns more next year. I really like the forum rides. I've met some really good riders thru the bike forums. All good riders too. Gina's got good handling skills, just needs to get into shape.

Our bud Ana is really fit but scared to descend. I need to bring her out to the forum rides so you gals can school her. I've been trying to get her out with the forum rides. She thinks too much then chickens out!

Hey Fix, I rode up to the Observatory also on X'mas day after doing a Magnolia/Sepulveda/Wilshire loop. Too bad we didn't cross paths. I think I was up there by about 11 am or so.

I reached the observatory around 3pm. There was virtually no traffic riding up Ferndell Park but that last bit of road leading up to the observatory was bumper to bumper traffic. Each vehicle reaching the top had to do a 3 point U-turn to get back down. It was a great feeling riding up that road right on the yellow center line passing all those vehicles stuck on that stretch of road...:p

Well, I'm so pro-women-riding, if she'd like to come ride with me (and NO crazy climbing), I'd love it. Maybe if she meets more of the women in the group, she'll feel more comfortable and after awhile, she'll just want to climb (it happens to all of us!). :)

I work about 5 min from GP. Eventhough I am going to work but will put the bike in the back of the car. If there is even a slight chance I will take it and do the ride.

I'm sorry to hear that, Serg. I'm not sure about tomorrow. I'm not planning a ride myself because I'm riding the bloat ride on Saturday. So, I will most likely hit the gym tomorrow and just do a small ride to stretch the muscles. I hope you can join on the next one!

Hi Flipflops, I just realized that I didn't respond back to you! I do sometimes ride GP on weekends. Some of the guys and I just did that two Sundays ago (a ride from GP to the Rose Bowl and back). You'd be more than welcomed to join us! I'll post on here for the next one. In the meantime, come to the bloat ride on Saturday! :D

Sorry, I show up late and then wind up bowing out. It was nice meeting you all. My first time riding at Griffith Park. It's very nice. I'll probably go back tomorrow. The wind in the Valley made the flats feel like climbs.

It was a very nice ride. Redden, I'm sorry you and your wife had to leave. Please join again! Bill, I hope your chain has been mended and sorry it broke up the canyon.

Fixer, zzzwillzzz, Sshakari, Ronjon10 and I were joined by a rider named Lee who stayed with us through the winds (not too bad) and up the canyons. It was gorgeous up there!

Here are the photos from today's ride. The winds did not affect us at all in the canyons of Griffith Park. We had a fantastic ride and lunch at Paty's following... And I finally had the pleasure of meeting and riding with Ron (Ronjon 10). :)
Bill (Scootcore) had a mechanical problem early in the ride so he had to turn back therefore I didn't get a chance to get a good photo of him. Sorry about that chain problem Bill.
