Just thought I'd post 'em her making it easier to view rather than searching thru page after page.

Was cool riding with these people. Very nice. I didn't really like the part when Chimivee and Jason blew me away on the last couple of miles on the way up, but they're still ok!:D..Tiff was excellent. Looked cool and calm the whole way up. I was trying to hold a good pace while Tiff and Chimivee were cruising up the mtn chit chatting effortlessly. On the way down, Tiff displayed excellent bike handling skills. I'm thinking about having her school one of my female riding partners!:D..Great job everybody!

Rick, Chimivee, and Tif heading up the mtn. Hope I spelled Chimivee correctly!:D

Thanx. I tired to get more of the "flying down the hill" shots, but these guys were too fast! Didn't attempt too many "flying up the hill" shots cause I was too busy wiping the tears from my eyes!:D

She was great on the descent! I was behind her on the final portion of the descent. She was carving the corners like a pro! Hard to believe it was her first time on GMR!:D

I was late so I did the climb alone, well, except for the guy on a mountain bike I rode with at the bottom until he couldn't keep my awesome 6mph pace anymore. I met the group at the village and they couldn't have been nicer, Mr Beanz even gave me money. I had ridden with Jason before but this was the first time meeting the others. I enjoyed talking to them and wish I would have made the start time so I could have had more time to, maybe at the Bloat ride.
One of us should have taken the camera to get an action shot of Mr Beanz.

How long was your total ride?

Mr. Beanz
12-26-06, 06:23 PM
43.2 miles. I did ride up to the vistor center a couple of times cause the cafe was closed. But I disconnect my computer while fartin' around! Just ride miles I record.

43.2 miles, but they were all uphill!

Did you ride up to Baldy, Tiff?? If so, Congratulations!!! See? Easy! Tell all those who are in the land "unknown" that the ride up there is easy (figuratively speaking...you will be climbing - but in beautiful weather from what the forecast says thus far). :D

Yes, not the ski lifts.. is that what you're referring to? We went up to the Mt Baldy Lodge or whatever it's called. The weather today was perfect... :D

"Glendora Mtn Ride Rd.". It is a very popular road that many cyclist enjoy riding. It's a 21 mile climb to Mt. Baldy Village. Starts in Glendora. Some even go further than the village up to the ski lifts. The 42 mile out and back ride totals nearly 5,000 ft of climbing. If I 'member correctly, the averagegrade to the Village is 5%. First 8 miles is closed to traffic. Sometimes the whole 21 is closed to vehicles. Many motorcycle riders ride the raod too because of it's switchbacks.

Prety much just a road that is used to train for climbing on the roadies. This is a pic I took about 2 miles from the bottom, start of the ride. You can see the switchbacks below.

When I ride, I like to pretend that I'm Marco Pantani. Just a lot bigger and with hair!:D

Nice pics. Much appeciated!!
I noticed there was one pic of Mr Beanz!
I was surprised GMR was closed last time I went there.
Used to live in Glendora, and would drive the road often.
Then last summer went there for the first time in years, and Wha?? It's closed?
It used to be closed due to wash outs often,
so I guess they finally just gave up fixing and closed it!

Yeah, pretty happy. Fixer first showed me his Lumix FX01 a while back, and the one I have is similar (FX07). Mainly, I wanted it for the wide angle lens. So far, so good... Tons of features, great images, nice movie mode. Although, I think the image quality on my Canon may have been just slightly better - the Lumix suffers from some noise at higher ISO speeds... but otherwise, it's excellent. :)

Actually, they are still working on it. One section about 3 miles up has been rebuilt with a real nice purty wall. I think there were work trucks going up and down that day too!
