Bicycle Mechanics - wheel building questions
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. 1) To build a 2-leading / 2-trailing wheel I would use spoke lengths calculated for a 2-cross wheel? Same lengths, just different lacing, right?
2) In your opinion, would such a wheel (2-leading 2-trailing) be strong enough for the rear wheel of a fixed gear using 42x16 gearing?

Mac, I would recommend a 3x lacing for a fixed wheel. It would be stronger and only grams heavier. The question about it being strong enough? This really depends on your size and riding style. If you are easy on your parts it may be but why take the chance just to have a different lacing pattern. 3x is tried and true.
