Touring - Volpe tires and first MS150(in PA)

I have my first MS150 coming up in June. I did a 140 mile 2 day trip on flat trail last year on my Volpe with the tires it came with and it was perfect.

The tires I believe are called Tiranasaurus or something like that. Kind of knobby. I was wondering if I should consider different tires for the MS150, use these tires or consider using the Bianchi Eros I have instead?

Any and all opinions welcome and appreciated.

Terrainosauras are a fairly heavy mixed use style, suitable for trail and road. If you switch to a medium width (28-32mm) slick, with a pressure of 90-100psi, your ride will be much more efficient and faster. For light touring, a kevlar banded model like Panaracer Pasela are good.

I would strongly suggest that you go ahead and change the tires yourself. If you are not comfortable with it, it will give you a good chance to get familiar with removing the wheel and tire to change a flat. <---Which you will NEED to do sometime on the road. (Do you carry a spare tube / patch kit / tire levers / pump or CO2?)

No reason to replace your rims, ghod forbid. You should be fine with any tire down to 700x28c. The Panaracer Paselas are a reasonable choice, and they're very easy to get on and off the rims. And the tubes that fit a 700x32c (the usual stock size on a Volpe) will fit a 700x28c.

If you want to replace the tubes, you can carry one of the current ones as a spare.

Just do it yourself. This is a skill you need to have.
