Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I am thinking about getting a set of Aerobars for my bike, but I use the North Road bars and I love them. I dont know how well they would work together. I dont want to change from my North Roads. Has anyone ever seen this done, or done it themselves? Any ideas.
Well, now. That's quite a concept. Theoretically, it could work, if there is enough area to clamp the aero's to. But there's another factor here - well, several. If you use NR's, I assume it's because they are supremely comfortable. That's why I use 'em. However, that factor would be severely mitigated by the use of a roadie saddle, which is what you would almost require to use the aero's. That's a super aggressive ride posture and I would think that any saddle that will be comfortable with NR's would mash the fruit basket pretty good.
Besides, do you really want to be seen trying to jockey a moose down the road? :D
If you want to get out of the wind a little, just mount the NR's upside down. They did this back in the day when drops usually only came with more expensive race machines.

Yea okay so I think I know what you mean by the saddle. If you use Aeros, then you need to have the bars lower than the saddle to have proper position. So that is why they wont work on NRs. Right?

Well, not neccessarily lower, although it would be optimal. It's just that you'd be in a crouch, and fairly stretched out over the bars. Your boys and everything else might object if you were on a saddle designed for NR's. :D
Then there's that moose thing...
