I had a friend give me a set of new Kenda Kinetics 26x2.20 tubeless tires but don't have tubeless rims. Can I run tubes in these tires just as if it was a tube style tire? My wheels are Xero Element Disc.

Yes

I run tubeless hutchinsons with my tubed rims, just fine. You'll need a little air in the tubes to make the mounting of them easier.
