Bicycle Mechanics - What Size Wheels do I have?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. What is the standard size road bike wheel? is it 650 or 700c This is a serious question. I have someone selling me 650c Open Pro wheels ... and I'm thinking to myself, this is the size I need, right?

650c is probably NOT the size you need, unless it's a very small framed bike (or a tri bike). 700c is the size of choice for road bikes except for triathletes and very small riders.
The bead seat diameter of a 700c wheel is 622 millimeters, while the bead seat diameter of a 650c wheel (there are three different "650" wheel sizes, but C is the more/most common AFAIK) is 571 ,millimeters. Make sure before you buy that you have a bike for 650c to use these wheels.
Look at the tires on your bike now. The size is always printed on the sidewalls.
