Does anyone have any exprience with Formula hubs?

I'm thinking about a set of wheels with Formula hubs but I haven't seen much on them. Any opinions appreciated.

DON'T DO IT! Formula hubs are junk. At least the rear ones are. My front hub hasn't been a problem but the rear is constant misery. Read the reviews on Formula hubs at MTBreview.com also. I'm in the process of trying to get the rear warrantied again right now.

Thanks Dirtgrinder.

Actually I am trying to find a reasonably priced hub that is not shimano. I have blown three shimano hub bodies. I was hoping Formula was a reasonable alternative to Shimano.

I haven't had a problem with mine. THey are solid and light, and if you ask me are on par with shamano. I'd say a good buy for the buck.

Urbanking,

Thanks for the reply.

What kind of wheels or rims are you running with your Formula hubs?

What kind of bike do you ride and what kind of riding do you do?

How long have you been riding on your wheels?

a buddy recently picked a set from jensonusa.com forgot the setup but it was formula hubs and 45 bucks. pretty light actually. we ride semi-aggressive xc no crazy shyt and a lot of times just cruise on paved roads. haven't had it for that long so sorry can't be of much help. i'd say they are good for the buck if you don't intend on abusing them too badly.

Formula's front are fine and I haven't heard of many issues. The rears get gunked up and tend to break down quickly. They are cheap for a reason.

Came across this while researching 24 hole Shimano hubs. (Which btw are impossible to find.)
