Steel rims, clinchers, 27"... at least he put tape under the rach attachment at the seat stays... slightly less desired Dubois lugs.

My Chrome Paramount came with a Pletscher rack. That was just plain WRONG! Those racks are for 3 speeds.

If it was overtightened, the clamp-on Pletscher kickstand is the biggest problem. Rims can be changed, and racks can be removed. However, in fairness to the seller, note that the Pletscher "mousetrap" rack is absolutely period-correct for this bike; I had one on my first (1962) Bianchi, and I have had them on two of the three Capos I have owned, although I have gone rackless since having the 1959 repainted. I currently have a mousetrap on my trusty UO-8 commuter, which is not a "3 speed."

At least this seller is advertising a PX-10 and actually offering a real PX-10, rather than a PR-10 or even a UO-8, as numerous others have.

Well, I wasn't so much boasting as I was just thinking about how much it sucks that people end up paying such high prices for vintage rides. I honestly believe that patience goes a long way in locating old rides. Granted, mine wasn't in the best condition and a few parts had been changed out here and there, but I fixed it up as best as possible and now it's great.

Well i think that vintage rides are really undervalued.
So if someone pays a little on the high side, it's too bad they could have gotten it for less but I wouldn't say they go a bad deal per say.
And if people want to pay a premium for refurbished bikes, then more power to them, it can make me a little spending money. :D

According to a poster on Classic Rendezvous, this bike might be a UX-10, which (still according to the CR poster) is the same model as the PX-10E, with 27 x 1 1/4 tires with Schraeder valves, in the 1974 US catalog.

My recollection from the day, back to 1968, is that no rear luggage racks were commonly available in the US other thant the Pletcher. Its presence is a mark of discernment (same for the ESGE kickstand!), as long as the installation was done with care. The Wald alternatives were heavy steel.

When did Jim Blackburn start making racks? I don't think I'd my '74 PX10 for very long before I bought a Blackburn rack for it. I like the brake bolt attachment because it doesn't mess up the paint. I'm still using that rack on my wife's Raleigh and I just bought a set of old Blackburn front and rear racks for her Fuji. I don't know if they still make a rack with brake bolt attachment.
