Heyy all, I was just woundering if you wear bikin' underwear when you have tights on in the winter? and if not what do you guys do for warmth below the waist?

I wear cycling bib shorts under my performance tights. I think my tights are fairly heavyweight. Maybe performance triflex?
The double layer of lycra keeps me warm down to 10F or so. Lower than that point I have to either add a pair of wind pants or my poly long john bottoms.

I wear Terramar silk longjohns from Sierra Trading Post. They are warm and very easy to slip the bibs over. Under that, I wear some microfiber Jockey briefs with flat seams.
I just wear bike shorts under the tights.

wow...seems like I'm the only that likes the tights under the shorts.
In my opinion if it is too cold to get by with only one pair of tights over shorts then you should wear another pair of bike tights underneath a heavier winter tight.
The problem with long underwear is that it is not stretchy and flexible enough in the knee for high cadence pedaling. So it works better to use a pair of lighter weight bike tights as long johns.

Over the years I've never had a not-stretchy-enough issue. I've used fleece Patagonia longs for OMG cold, and thinner Kombie ski johns for cold but THAT cold.... I used to have an awesome pair of silk long johns that I swear warmed better than anything I've ever worn. I have encountered issues with multiple tights bunching up at the knees, combative stretchiness?

Padded Shorts, Hot Chili's, and winter tights are fine for me down to 20F or so. I don''t want to go out on a bike if it's colder than that.

If you go commando in some of these temps, your men will go AWOL.
Triflex tights (w/out chamois) over bib shorts (w chamois) work for me from about 30 degrees F down to the single digits. Below that I'll start throwing a layer of silk or poly long underwear between the tights and the bib shorts. Never had a problem with inflexibility. When it gets really cold and windchilly I've put on my rain pants over the top of the tights and cut out the long underwear layer.
I can't see why you would want the tights or underwear between you and the chamois - unless you've done it only on short rides and you haven't had time yet to find out just how uncomfortable that can get.

It's a tad difficult to remove tights that are under shorts. A month or two ago I had a 35F morning where I was running very warm and had to remove my tights. If I wore it under the shorts I would have had to strip butt naked by the side of the street. Plus, the chamois issue specg mentioned.

That's what I do. On those days where it's < 50F in the morning and > 60F in the afternoon I can strip back to just the shorts.
If it's < 30F I may wear merino wool / poly long johns also.
