Just got a pair of these and they are damn near perfect for clips and straps. Perfect amount of stiffness in the sole, very comfy, and they look nice too. Smooth soles make entry/exit easy. Yes, they are styled as driving shoes, but whatever. I like them.

I wear the same shoes, but lucked out and got the ones with a velcro top strap that allows you to tie the laces under the tongue and stay nice and secure. I sure do wish they still made them. Sigh.
