was thinking about trying a carbon fork and can't seem to find any that are threaded, which I am assuming would require an alloy steer tube... does anyone know of any, or ride with one..?

aero would be fantastic..

oh, any read on white aeroheads would be much help, can't locate anywhere?

why dont you just switch to threadless?

just go threadless, makes it a heck of a lot easier.

oh and if you like drop stems, flip a mtb riser upside down, that should do the trick.

items billed as "white carbon" are made with a fiberglass and carbon weave. it's cheaper to manufacture and heavier

so it is a bit weaker? and thus not a great idea...

so it is a bit weaker? and thus not a great idea...

according to Rocket7, who make high end custom cycling shoes:

"Don't be fooled by "white carbon" products; if it is white, its called fiberglass. Fiberglass is heavier and only a fraction the strength (and cost) of carbon fiber."

this is echoed by Soller Composites who manufacture carbon fiber and carbon fiber hybrid fabrics:

"White Carbon Fiber aka Colored Eglass Twill Fabric
This highly sought after "pure white carbon fiber" has a weave that is slightly smaller than our standard 2X2 3K 5.7oz Carbon twill. This fabric is available in virtually any solid color (please call for colors not listed)

WCF90 9.0 38inches Twill 6.99 Number of feet Out of stock
Please note this fabric is colored fiberglass. It commonly referred to as "colored or white carbon fiber", but it contains no carbon fiber.....

coincedentally, "silver carbon fiber" is aluminum coated fiberglass

I've never seen any "white carbon" forks, especially not of the miniscule time frame when carbon forks were threaded (early 90s). Looks like fashion's never going to win this battle.

does anyone know what're some nice 1" threadless carbon road forks out there similar in design and performance to wound-ups? this is going on a track bike so it'd be nice to have a 38-40 mm rake

thanks
