General Cycling Discussion - What can I use this shoe with?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a pair of specialized stiff cycling shoes from years ago...
This is the bottom of them...

What pedals can I use with them? The pair of circles move up and down, if that's relevant.... cheers!

Looks like they might be spd compatible.
They look like mountain bike shoes. You can probably use Shimano, Time, Eggbeaters, and various other mountain bike pedals and cleats that are spd compatible. For some cleats, a little trimming of the rubber is involved.

Cheers to both of you... that's what I suspected, but I wouldn't know what an SPD shoe looked like if it bit me on the ass.
;)
Investigating further.... I want a pedal I can use SPD shoes and normal shoes with....

Sorted - Next month I'll get - Shimano M020 shoe for walking and short cycling trips, and get SH55 adjustable cleats for these specialized shoes, and m324 different-sided beginner pedals for both pairs of shoes.
Sound good?
Ah.....I luv the internet.... ;)

Good choice. The M020 is a bit flexible.
My wife uses the M324 pedals (and fpd copies which are cheaper!) on her bikes and likes them.
