Road Cycling - European sizes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

If someone said they had a European XL pair of bib shorts, would you expect that meant a size 4, 5 or 6? I recently ordered a pair of Euro XLs, expecting a 5 and wound up with a 6 - not a big deal except I'll have to pay customs twice and likely shipping again (if they take them back)! ***K ME!

European means small relative to the "US" sizing. Maybe this will help:CC sizing chart (http://www.coloradocyclist.com/help/sizingcharts.cfm)

You are correct, Carl. You should have received a 5. The seller, whether a company or private party should be responsible for the cost of exchange. Which company was it?

Some Euro sizes seem to vary from others
(not standardized?) i.e. in almost all of my
bib-shorts I wear a medium, with the exception of
Etxe-Ondo which I wear a large.

They emailed and told me there's no problem with exchanging it. I haven't brought up shipping yet - I really should have checked first though....
