Hello,

I have a Cannondale F500 hardtail bike (it's about 4 or 5 years old). It's still in great shape and instead of purchasing a new bike, I was wondering if I would be able to upgrade this bike to disk brakes? I'm planning on purchasing a new bike sometime next year. I emailed Cannondale but never got a response (that was about a week ago).

Are there any disc mounts on the frame?

If this is your bike, then I dont' believe it has disc brake mounts on the stock frame and fork:

What you're looking for is a disc brake mount similar to what's depicted at #3 on this page:

And another set of disc brake mounts on the front left fork similar to what you see here:

Yep. That's my bike. Well, it looks like I'm going to have to upgrade sooner than I wanted. Just can't afford to buy a new bike right now.
