General Cycling Discussion - the christening

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

OK folks, I have just spent some serious money on my bike. I've got myself some spanky new cranks, a set of chainrings (because the others were stuffed), a new chain and a new cassette. What's the first thing I do with them? Take them straight out into the rain (it's not my fault, I'm still banned from weather forecasting).

Don't feel bad, after I replaced all that stuff on my old bike I took mine straight out into the mud. But boy was it fun!:D

Well at least you got that out of the way. Now you can really enjoy your new spanky toys.

Yeah, Chris,
My pretty new whitewall tires lasted about a week before they got all ugly with brake shoe stains from the rain.
They have a sort of scary look now, like Boris Karloff's laboratory.
Now I feel better again. :D

Yeah, it hadn't rained up here for ages either, but last week it p*ssed down for a couple of days. I think it was just waiting for me.
