1972 P-15, 25", all-chrome, looks like it's in pretty good shape, w/Campy headset and BB, but needs replacement decals. Any guesses as to how high the bidding will go? Lord knows I can't afford another Paramount project, which hurts as this one is my size. Oh well . . . . maybe another BF C&V denizen can score this one.

This is a genuine Craigslist ad for a 1969 Schwinn Paramount in great condition for $100
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/bik/254712987.html
The guy called me to tell me he just sold it (yes for $100). I gave him the bad news. It just goes to show....keep a lookout for deals, they do come.

Now all I have to do is find that mint-condition 1968-72 Cinelli in my size for $50. As if . . . .

$900.00
So, Tom, is that how much you plan to put up on a last-second snipe-hunt bid?;)
I guess I should up put a guess in the original post, so here goes - considering it's chrome, it's in pretty good shape and it has the right headset and bottom bracket, I'll go out on a limb and say . . . oh . . . how about $1450?

It appears to be in great shape, but I don't think it'll go for more than $1,000. I got my 24" '72 P15 complete and in museum condition for a little over $1300 in March, and there was THIS ONE (http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230003914762), a complete 23" '72 chrome P15 in great condition that went for $646 in July.

Nope, I can't afford it at the price it was at earlier! I'd like to see the seller make some money on it though! :D

I already have one chrome Paramount, but I wouldn't mind another......
Doubtful that I will bid, though. If I buy another I will have to sell something. I just recently sold my Raleigh International frame when I got the Paramount.
I would bid on P-10 or P-15 painted touring frame if it came along in the right color.

Upon inspection it's just a varsity with paramount painted on the side, and it looked to have been in a serious accident because the back half is bond-o.

Turns out we were all too high on the guesses. Final price, $610. All things considered, that sounds fair to me. But then what do I know?

Really....? Are we talking about the same yellow Paramount? I had a long conversation with the guy and he told me he bought it himself new in the late 60's for around $300. He told me it had chrome Nervex lugs and Campagnolo cranks!....That would be one hell of a Varsity! Honestly, I don't think we're talking about the same bike.....

I was happy since I paid $550 for the whole bike.:D Also the buyer tuned out to be a really nice guy and has quite a collection of vinatge bikes. We have corresponded back and forth regarding some trades for parts etc. All in all a win/win situation!

I too wanted to ride it but it was too big.:( I took a chance buying it and lost out on having a great bike to ride but was compensated for taking a chance and sending money to a seller (i never met in person, tom is a great guy by the way) for a bike halfway across the counrty.
