My goal for Christmas vacation was do a century, but I am happy with todays ride (even being 29 miles short of a century) due to all of the climbing :D
Todays ride was a solo outing, which ended up being 71.14 miles, with 3,714 feet gained. Average speed 17.4 mph (which would have been faster if not for the winds in the canyon), and 41.2 mph max. :)
Here is my ride
Start on Beach/Garfield (Huntington Beach)
L - Main Street
R - 17th Street
L - PCH
L - Jamboree
R - San Joaquin
L - Newport Coast
R - Bonita Canyon/Culver

Congrats!
Out of curiousity:
Why did you break up the garmin link like that?
Also, How did your garmin battery do, obviously it made it the whole way, any bars left?

Tomorrow Id be stoked to avg 15mph over my 50 miler. Although it does include almost 6700 ft of climbing. But we are also shooting to keep the HR under 165, so we shall see. It may turn into a testosterone fest too. Id like to save some for mondays climb, but tomorrows ride is funner.:D It includes my altime favorite decent.

I broke the link up as MotionBased does not want non members viewing their site. When you post the whole link, it breaks it up at the ?, and you get an error message.
Battery worked great! Still had two bars :)

Here is the link http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/episode/view.mb?episodePk.pkValue=1805449
BikeForums abbreviates it so cut and paste won't work but it should hyperlink..
Anyway, more important, great ride!!

Yes, but in the past I have found that unless you are a MotionBased member, the link will get split up and not work. Lets see :)
Oh yeah, thanks thomson

2 bars! nice. I'm down to one bar at about 5 hours.
Anyway, I don't want to degrade this into a Garmin topic, if I get motivated (not likely today) I'll round up a bunch of garmin stuff and start a dedicated thread, seems like there are lots of socal users out there.
Back on topic, congrats again!

Hi Greg,
I've ridden on almost all of those roads. It always amazed me how many miles you can pack in just meandering around the OC. Good job on getting out for such a good ride at the end of the year.
I spent the day inside waiting for various deliveries and for my car to get some work done on it. :(
However, I did receive a late Christmas present today. ;) (See the shopping thread.)
I'll be out tomorrow wandering through HB on my normal Saturday ride with my club.

Speaking of, I am pretty sure I have seen your club on PCH many times. If you see a guy on a Madone with red spokes waiving at you, it's me :D
