Next time im using bisquick.
I used what was on the back of the buckwhat mix thing. I think it:
1 egg
tablespoon: honey and canola oil
one cup of: buckwheat and milk, and that's it.

Bisquick?

That's like, the AWP of baking stuff.

You might as well buy a box of Eggo's and camp if you're going to use Bisquick.

Hmm, weird. Maybe some baking powder would help (about a tsp)

Make sure you use a good nonstick spray, preferably butter flavored, that'll help too!

- skip waffles and make a good no-fail (works every time) coffee cake:

1 1/2 C flour
6 TBLS sugar
1 1/2 TSP baking powder
1/4 TSP salt
1/3 C shortening
ground cinnamon
handful sliced almonds
1 egg
1/2 TSP vanilla
1/2 C milk
1/2 C brown sugar
3 TBLS butter

- preheat oven to 425F

1. mix flour, sugar, salt, baking powder (i also add a TSP of cinnamon)
2. cut in shortening, mix until shortening is pea-sized
3. add almonds (or pecans)
4. whisk egg, milk, and vanilla
5. add egg, milk, vanilla to flour, etc., then stir
6. microwave butter, brown sugar and cinnamon (i use at least a TBLSP) for a minute, stir
7. place flour, egg mixture in 9" round pan
8. drizzle butter, brown sugar, cinnamon onto and/or through mixture in pan
9. bake 20 min or until toothpick is dry when inserted

- let cool, then enjoy!

Oh trust me sweet cheeks, I don't 'need' Bisquick. I can whoop-azz from scratch wit the best of them, any day all day long. It's called working smarter, not harder. :p

Now that I've given you my culinary secrets, I'm afraid I'll have to take you out back and kill you. :D

This is what I was going to suggest too.

Bisquick is awesome. You can make so much stuff with it. Muffins, Biscuits, Waffles, Pancakes, etc... I won't eat homemade pancakes unless they're made with Bisquick.

Non-stick spray.
Add a little oil to the batter.
Fry some bacon on the griddle prior to dumping in the waffles....then bake that bacon right into the middle of those bad boys. Heart stoppers for sure, but mmmm, mmmmmmm good.

humph!! I read the directions for the man & man-boys in my house! Whatever woman gave him that device is obviously at fault! These things usually have a little light that either comes on or goes off when the darn thing is ready, anyway. This guy's an idiot, PLUS he's using corn syrup on his waffle disasters. Anybody who is going to bother making waffles (or pancakes or french toast) knows that that suff is no good for you! Pay the extra $$ and get real maple syrup, or don't bother at all!!!!

Real maple syrup is chock full of the same immunilogical stuff that a baby gets from mothers milk - the ONLY thing in nature that has this stuff. It's good for you, even on eggos.

I buy the stuff now, having had up past here with making it - the whole house would be damp & mapley smelling for weeks - and I figure it's worth paying for.

I'm glad someone else pointed out the syrup faux pas! I grew up with the fake stuff, but now I'm a syrup snob! It has to be real maple syrup... or nothing!

I've never seen anything regarding the comparison to breastmilk... do you have any links I could read?
