Hey guys, great forum; I've been a lurker for some time! I'm wanting to know if anyone has dealt with the goofy bar top brake handles on a Giant OCR3? I'd like to remove them (never use them), but I'm curious if I'll have to replace my cables if I decide to do this. I'm pretty much waiting untill spring when I rewrap the bars, but I'd like to know now in case I need to order parts. Thanks!

You won't necessarily haven to replace your housing if it is still in good condition. You will have to get a couple of double ended ferrels to splice the housing together after you remove the interrupter levers. If you reuse your cables, be careful you don't fray the ends pushing them back through. This would be a good time to put new in. Then again if you're replacing your bar tape ,it's not too much trouble to replace your housing too. Hope this helps.

I always think that I will be able to re-thread my cables when I do this. I suspect that sometime I will realize that I just need to buy new cables every time I change housing.

Send me the levers when you remove them. I hardly ever use the bar tops, but I think those levers look real cool.

You can have them, but you have to come pick them up!
