Why is there always a smarta$$ on these boards lurking? I am not pointing or naming screen names (is against policy here) but there is always one on every sub forum that just irks me at times with their smart remarks.

I wish we could as a whole take them in the courtyard and cane them!:D

There is a downside to everything, including free speach. Don't let them get to you. They are usually so wrapped up in themselves that nothing you say will penetrate.

Its the nature of the beast. Run a public forum, you will get trolls and smartasses. To be honest, some of my favorite posters were the top trollers of all time. They make things actually funny. Might be my dry humour, but the typical slapstick humour just doesn't do it for me.

Now a bad troll or smartass (prepubes for example) just suck the wind out of a thread/post/ and sometimes forum itself.

amazing that you get all worked up over an internet message board.

Everyone has their own definition of where the line is between being funny and being a smartass. For better or worse, it can be a pretty fine line.
