My choice for CD of the year is a boxed collection of rare and little heard funk and R&B sides called What It Is! Funky Soul And Rare Grooves. It's on Rhino Records. While it isn't cheap, I've played and played and played each CD so it's getting good use. Little Richard singing Nuki Suki is great. And no, I have no idea what "cute pork sho is good fo me" means. Classic.

I nominate Tool - 10,000 days they release an album every solar eclipse or something and they are always great.

I would have to pick "From Mars To Sirius" by Gojira

Tool 10'000 days. What an album. What a band. Pity there's such a gap between album releases. Go see them ( a bit late now but I think they're touring again in summer) you won't be disappointed!!!

I would have to make my own CD to make it a cd of the year.
But I am going to say the new Rise Against CD.

Tool's "10,000 Days" is an excellent choice for numero uno of 2006.

I have to toss in The Flaming Lips' "At War with the Mystics" as well. I can't stop listening to this latest effort from the Lips.

I think we can safely say that TOOL 10,000 days is the winner. Many other good albums but not many even come close to this masterpiece. Takes a little getting used to hence some of the bad reviews.

That one has really grown on me...I can listen to Tool over and over again...The last 2 CD's have been near masterpiece's as far as I am concerned...

A lot of the underground sites are picking The Knife Silent Shout (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Shout) as the best for 2006.

Video for Silent Shout (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7EYiFzNohU).
