Southern California - New Recruits Thread

I think I've directed a few people to at least check out Bikeforums over the last couple of years and I know a few of those have become members.
Just this morning I spoke to David, a regular client of our's, about visiting Bikeforums as he seems interested in cycling and also happens to instruct spinning classes. Hope he checks us out and joins us on our rides some day...:)

On a couple of rides I've had people ask, and informed them also.
We'll see who shows up.

Redden recruited a really nice guy, Lee (his handle is alluding me) this past Thursday. Redden just rode up beside him and the guy joined. I think the more word of mouth, the more people will join. I personally think this is a great community. I've been wanting to ride in areas outside of my normal spots and now I can since I've met the OC riders, etc. And IaninSD showed up yesterday (really nice guy, as well) - so, obviously, he wanted to ride outside his area. It's just a great way to meet and ride with new riders on exciting rides! :)

Lemme see, where do I begin? MTBLurker. I met him at the beach. Through casual conversation, the topic of bicycle foums came up. I informed him that I was Mr. Beanz. He laughed for about 30 minutes! I told him that he ought to join. He was a lurker and might have joined anyway, but I suggested it! DO I get half a star for that?

Then Paul. He joined but I haven't seen any posts from him. Met him about a month ago on the SART. He did show up for the GMR ride yesterday and completed it. He sounded pretty excited about attending future forum rides.

Hmm, Gina isn't a member, but she did attend one of the GMR forum rides. She did the first 16 miles of climbing. It got hot and I got stung on the neck by a bee, so we turned around. I think she was happy though!:D...I think I deserve another half star cause she may attend future forum rides.

Then there's Sonny!...Sonny!....Sonny! For 3 weeks, he's been trying to figure out how to register!:D He did a portion of the San Gabriel Trail ride with us. He did the GMR ride with,err somewhere around us! I'm actually worried about him. He got lost on the GMR ride and can't figure out how to register. SO I'll take half a star until he figures it out!:D

He's prolly reading this, so I', gonna catch 7734 later on!:p

Well, thanks again to Fixer for the invite. I'm a newbie but looking forward to joining in on more rides!

After yesterday's Baldy ride, you can count me in as a new recruit; good fun with a good group of people. I have lurked and posted on BF a little previously but only in the fixed gear section which pretty much turned me off of BF all together. Guess I should have looked a little more around the forums (like this one). I'll stick around here and you'll see me on more rides.
