OK it was only a little over 3 miles in a nearby development, but I still went.
22F out. There were a few frozen puddles.

Were you wearing that heavy-duty winter-wear scuba get-up?

Goggles, balaclava, no face mask. I probably didn't need the goggles but my face was comfy.

I'd ride, but I'm still sick.

I'm a little bummed that bikejournal is still showing 2006 data. I want to see where I'm at for 2007!

Yeah, I didn't want to fight with the crazies on the road.
Besides, its been a whole year since I last rode...2006 ya know?

Likely not till march at the earliest. To much snow.

Old joke, but still funny.

My first ride? As soon as I can hook up with flyingscotsman to get my tire back on my wheel. I'm afraid even he will have to call in the kilted reserves to help!

Simple solution...buy a new bike! It will have two new tires with new tubes already installed.
OK, next problem?

Or simply learn how to do it yourself. It ain't hard.

PS at least you are biking in something remotely cold. -5c is a respectable temp to be out in. Most people whine at 5c which is shorts weather :)

Yes. Old Weinmann 630 wheels. Modern tires. A real sunuvabaitch.
Everything between gettin' the cursed thing off and gettin' it back on, as you so astutely point out, "ain't hard." :p
I've ordered a nifty little tire jack:

But won't have it 'til the ninth.
Yes, R-dad, I'm gonna be buying a new roadbike soon. And then this sweet beater is going on the trainer! :D

haha sorry didn't mean to stir some feathers, I was kidding. I deal with dh race tires, amongst the loosest on the planet. My fiance can take them off by hand. :D

No feathers ruffled. That sunuvabaitch was aimed at the bleepin' wheel/tire interface. :D
Yeah, I look forward to getting my new roadbike. With modern wheels. And modern tires. And no more fingernails turned backwards.
It's all good. :)

I think I'll pass on a ride today. Freezing rain outside.
Or simply learn how to do it yourself. It ain't hard. You know, they make a pill for that. ;) I'm sure your fiance will appreciate it too. :p

I'd love to go out but with having a cold and it being cold rain weather... no thanks, don't want pneumonia!
An hour and 45 minutes on the mountain bike this morning. Rode most of my hangover away thankfully. I was reminded of the rolling resistance of studded tires. Between the deep snow yesterday, and the studded tires today, my legs have been adequately zonked.

Thanks I will take that into consideration next time I finish a 26. :D
Nach... Any time. What are friends for. :)
35 miles this morning, start time was 9:00, 43 degrees, and no rain. Maybe 100 riders, and a fast pace.

Went about 10 feet on my beater chasing Catatonic, 'til R-dad reminded me I still have a flat. Dammit.
