Hey,
I wanna put Red Spokes on my Raceline Road bike. My brothers Apollo came with just basic spokes, except they were black, so that gave me the idea of putting more colour into the bike. My spokes are: DT Stainless Steel.
Thanks.
As long as they wont decrease the performance of the bike and you like the way they look why not?
No problem they just cost more than standard spokes.

Here ya go, Marwi USA (http://www.marwiusa.com/www/noFlashIndex.html)
Marwi makes Titanium spokes and they come in a variaty of colors. They do ride a bit diferently then your standard spokes but they will lighten your wheels and still give you good performance. The biggest draw back is the price $$$.

yea but I want RED spokes, and you can't get Red titanium spokes, and I want something around the same price of standard spokes if possible. Anyway can you paint your original stainless spokes?

Try this with one spoke to see if it works. Get the color red you want in a spray can. Clean the spoke good with something like rubbing alcohol and tape over the threads. Stick it in a piece of styro foam to paint it(Don't use a lot). Then depending on your age wait for your wife or mom to leave the house and put just the spoke (no foam) in the oven at about 180-200 degrees for about 20 minutes .This will stink! But it will also toughen the paint. Shut off the oven and let the spoke cool. Now the experimental part try to push it thru the spoke hole in the hub and see if the paint gets messed up. If the spokes are butted I think this will work pretty good.

no no noooooooo!!! I was looking at either Red titanium, or painting stainless ones for a small cost. Titanium are too expensive anyway, so I'm gonna skip that straight away.

I baked the swingarm off my Kz1000 in the oven, made the paint super tough, nothing would nick or stain it.

Rev, did you powder coat the swingarm? I have done some basic powder coating in my oven, works great, very affordable for the do-it-yourselfer.

Try this on basic highcarbon calv. steel spokes , use a red permenent felt tip laundry marker , if it starts to fade its simple to touch up. My old Avanti Sprint has black concave Allessa rims with black spokes , when I repaced a spoke I would do this ,the calv. finnish seems to take up the pigment :) (I dont bother any more , mainly because any felt tip in our house seems to dissapear almost as soon as it appears <bloody kids> :irritated )

Joe Gardner, No it was just high temp engine paint in "chrome silver" Did it ten years ago and it is still the best looking part on the bike.
Black felt tips work good for scratches on black bikes and anodised parts.
