On the acquisition of 2006 Campy Record carbon cranks (double), I need to make the changes from my current triple set-up.

I currently have a 10 speed Campy Record Aluminum triple crankset, 10 speed Campy Record carbon shifters, an oldish Chorus fd, Record Titanium RD (long cage)

I am assuming that aside from the BB, no new components are necessary, but I could be wrong, so I check with the experts here.

Thanks. ... and happy new year.

You will want to use a "triple" type front derailer; one designed for a double will shift very poorly from the small to the middle ring. None of the other stuff matters.

Thanks Sheldon. However, I have a triple fd or one that has been working on my current triple set up. Now that I am changing to a double, I am wondering if I will need to get a fd for a double or if the current one will do.

Sorry, I misread you posting, thought you were upgrading, not downgrading ;-)

Triple derailer should work fine with a double.

Just trying out the carbon cranks that I bought for cheap. I very rarely use the granny ring, and when I do it's usually because I feel badly for neglecting it. (Often on the same day I feel compelled to call my own granny!) However, I am retaining it and the bb in case a future need or want arises - which is why I am pleased to know I don't have to change anything else.

Thanks!
