Well I am trying to order more jerseys but I am not sure of the size, mainly because I am not sure how they should fit. When I order a jersey should it:

a) Fit really snug like my riding shorts

b) Fit fairly snug but not like my shorts

c) Be loose fitting

d) Flap in the wind like a big parachute

I have one jersey now that fits OK I guess, it is not at all snug on the chest but is slightly snug on the arms.

Next question is about riding shorts. The only pair I have ever tried are Perl Attack Shorts. They seem comfortable and definately remove sweat, but are there other brands etc I should try? I dont really know but $60 per pair seems a little high, or are they just really good shorts?

When you wash your riding clothes do you air dry them? I am hand washing my jersey and shorts but the shorts (padding) takes forever to dry on the line, should I put them into a dryer or not? If so, what temperature setting should I use?

Thanks!

Allan Hall

Personally, I like my jersey to fit somewhat snug, but not like my riding shorts. I wear a medium (5'9" and 157) and i get a good fit around the chest and arms.

It took me a while to break down and buy the Pearl Izumi UltraSensor shorts...I got them at my LBS, so I paid about $80 for them. But man, those things are so comfortable, especially on long rides. To be honest, I'd wear them around the office...but they don't leave much to the imagination - ya know ;-)

I wash all my gear in the washer on a cold temp and dry everything (low heat). I let my jerseys air dry, though.

Later,

Paul

This is how I like my jerseys. I like them to be loose enough so that I don't feel restricted but not so loose that they flap around in the wind.

djpluv,

Are you a member of any cycling clubs/teams in the Springs? I'll be moving there in the summer and I was thinking about joining the Colorado Springs Cycling Club. Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't belong to any clubs (don't know why I haven't persued it yet). I'd eventually like to get involved with a regular club.

I have a training package with CTS and my coach told me about a group ride that takes place on the weekends - guess there are all kinds of skill levels that participate. I'm getting ready to head down there in a bit.

You'll love this place (for riding)...especially if you mountain bike. We regularly hit the trails and are on the road damn near everyday.
