stokell
I don't know what it was like on New Year's Day where you live, but thanks to global warming, the City of Toronto was sunny and warm. The tandem was safely tucked in a number of pieces in the cellar with thoughts of spring touring dancing in our heads.
Each New Years Day I go on a bike trip. That has been the tradition for around 6 years. Normally it is dry and clear. For the last several years there has been no snow. I go by myself on my touring bike, but this year the sun was shining (all be it at a rather rakish angle in the southeast sky), so with my stoker's approval, I dragged the frame and various parts up from the cellar and went for a marvelous mid-winter tour out on the Leslie Street Spit. Eight kilometres out on Lake Ontario wasn't the 10C, back in the City, but it was a marvelous sight to look back on.
