I dunno if that's good or not, but I rode 13 miles yesterday on the MTB ... best start to the new year in a L O N G time. With some motivation, this could be a personal record setting season.

It's Northern Illinois, it's 6:00 AM, it's early January, it's 49 degrees! :eek: Are the bike gods smiling on me because I decided to take up bicycle commuting through this winter or this this just a practical joke, setting me up for weeks of sub-zero weather? I've ridden every day so far this year. (Admittedly, not as far as I'd like to ride but still...)

On a side note, does anyone have anything good or bad to say about Mavic CXP22 rims? (For a fixed gear.)

I got 85 miles in this week! I haven't even thought about putting a bike on the trainer yet. It would be nice to try out my new XC skis and do some ice fishing though.

John;
Wisconsin is a great great place to ride. I am hoping that you will host a Saturday or Sunday 50 mile ride open to us Chicago area guys and gals. (I am thinking wind and cold, so I suppose for you die hards it could be further) I live on North Shore and can get up to Milwaukee in 50 minutes. I'll drive any day to do a ride in Wisconsin because the roads are great for riding. What do you think? The weather has been great.... Come on everyone....this could be fun. (p.s. don't you like how I volunteer another state to host a ride?:D )
