I'm planning on entering my first WORS race this year. Is anyone else out there planning on riding any events. I'm probably only going to ride two or three. I'm doing the Reforstration Ramble in Green Bay, the Rhinelander ride and maybe 9 mile forest in Wausau. Its only January and I'm totally pumped to ride in my first race. I want to find out if all these training rides and spinning classes made me fast. Hopefully I don't embarrass my self. Well just wondering how many races anyone else is going to make. Is anybody else looking forward to summer?

I'd definitely like to try some races. I've never raced before. I'm up in northern wisconsin during the summers, so I'll probably just do the ones up north: Nine Mile, Phillips, Rhinelander, and maybe Wisc Rapids... Hopefully my work schedule will give me some weekends off. :)

My parents have a place on lake Namekagen (40 minutes NE of Hayward, you know, the Musky Museum and lumberjack contests) and I recall a race there as a kid. If I were to guess, it started in Grandview, went down Hwy. D then off to Cable and up Hwy. 63 back to Grandview. Do they still do this race/ride? Do you know what it is called? Website? Sorry to hijack but it is sort of in your neighborhood.

I'm not sure if they still do or not. Here is the 2007 WORS Schedule. http://www.wors.org/news/article.php?id=152 Take a look and see. They've only been racing WORS for 15 years or so. Not sure how old you are. WORS is the the nations largest MTB racing series. I'm just trying to see if anyone else is pumped up. I'm probably just going to be riding the marathon events. Which is a new feature this year. They are longer than the normal race. They should be 16-20 miles for the Citzen class and 30 miles or so for the pros.

If I do any of the races, I'll probably start out in Sport class. I think it should be enough of a challenge for me.

Why the sport class Taerom? Are you a pretty strong rider or do just want to stay away from the idiots impaling themselves on trees in the citzen class?

I did 4 races last year and am planning to do 9 this year and be a series rider for the first time (unless I impale myself on a tree :D Nothing like competition to raise the heart rate to new levels. The WORS Cup at Mt Morris is 15 minutes from my house. Can't wait.
