Hello,
We are two out of shape bike riders who wish to start a bike club. The name of the club we hope to form is The Couch Potato Bike Riders Club. We are having an informal ride down the coast from Playa Del Rey to Hermosa Beach on Sunday, January 7th, 2007 at 9:00 AM. We will be stopping for breakfast at The Good Stuff Restaurant right on the beach.
Let us assure you that this will be a very casual ride. People with any bike or any skill level are welcomed. This isn't a competitive club and is just for meeting people and having a good time.
We will be meeting at the bridge at the end of the Ballona Creek Bike Trail. From the 405 freeway, get off on the Jefferson exit and head west towards the beach past Lincoln. Make a left at the end of the road on to Culver Blvd. and follow the road into Playa Del Rey. Turn Right at "The Shack" and you'll see a large park with a soft ball field. Parking is plentiful on the street (it helps to get there early). Ride your bike up Pacific Ave, and you'll reach the bridge. If you chose to ride your bike and you're coming from Venice or Santa Monica, just ride the bike path through Marina Del Rey.
