OK for you out there who really want to test skill and endurance - this is your ride. 3500' of climbing in less than 15 miles! Some terrifying ups and just as terrifying downs! But the scenary is beautiful! This ride tours the lovely an remote Fremont Canyon which is just down recovering from the Sierra Peak fire. The trail is in good shape. Description & Registration Information
Guided ride for very experienced riders in excellent cardio shape. This ride travels along fire roads with a total elevation gain over the 14.6-mile loop of 3,500 feet. Travel along the entire rim of Fremont Canyon, past the site of an abandoned surface coal mine, the Fremont Weather Station, rare Tecate Cypress, and to the interior of the canyon at its northernmost end. Mountain bike, helmet, gloves, minimum of 100 oz. of water, lots of calories, spare tube, and pump required. Visitors will need to verify ride skills and fitness before registering for this ride.
