Sometimes when the light is just right I can look in the distance and think I see a cyclist and it turns out to be a road sign. One interesting encounter was riding to work in the dark on a trail and in the distance seeing a light, I thought was another biker, turned out it was a train. The only other time I thought something was a biker that wasn't I was riding on that same trail and heard this crashing come up along me, I though some crazy MTBer was coming through the woods int eh middle of the night, turned out it was two deer. Scared the bageezus out of me.

Runners! I'm always amazed how fast good runners can keep pace . We have the River to River Run here and teams run over hills most people think your crazy to ride a bike over.

same for me, but I often mistake other things for cyclists in the summer when the heat rising off the pavement distorts things far away...
