I was just wondering if these fit standard old school 27" rims? And if they do, what brakes will they fit in? Saw them at the LBS, and was thinking they might do better on the streets around here. Would old weinmann centerpulls clear? I know small radius types like weinmann 500's and Sante probably would cause problems. Just using it as an axample since I own a few bikes with them.,,,,BD

NM, saw your pics. That's a very sweet minimalist bike! Simple works for me too. Most of my favorite bikes I own have single fronts, and 3 speeds or less in the rear.,,,BD

Bikedued. I'm not sure I understand what you're asking. Lugged tires? You mean sort of like MTB or cyclocross tires?

I have 27 1-3/8 on several vintage bikes... I'm not sure what a "lugged tire" is... do you mean studded? I am always on the lookout for decent quality tires in that size.

Yup, tires with lugs, as opposed to slicks and normal road bike type tires. Guess they're not referred to as lugs.,,,,BD

You might have to deflate the tires to get them past the calipers (or undo the brake cables, or remove the pads), but once they're on, I don't think you'll have a problem.

That's a 27" front wheel with similar tire.

I have a pair of those on my partners bike she loves them for the gravel MUP and around town. No caliper clearance issues with the stock Raleigh Capri units.
I have tires like that on one bike. I have to deflate the tires to get them past the side-pulls.
I found them cheap so I am experimenting with them in the winter. No snow yet, so no data so far.

I've been running 27X1 3/8 Club Roost cross terras on one of my bikes with no problems. The rims are 27X1 1/4. I don't think I'd even try them on my 1 inch rims though.
