Already posted this in the music category, but I think it applies to this cat as well.. Can anyone help me out?

I'm in an astro-surf rock band and we have one song called "Velodrome". It's fast, driving instrumental music, and there's one part of the song that I think calls for a cool soundbite, which is what I'm looking for someone to point me to.
I think it would be great to use commentary from a race or something. I love the way the GnR song "Breakdown" ends, with the guy commentating on some car chase, or even that meatloaf song where the baseball commentator is doing his thing.
So, since this song is called "velodrome" I suppose it would be appropriate to use commentary from a bike race. Except I don't watch bike racing... I don't even know where to find it. I only used the word "velodrome" because it sounds cool. Does anyone know where I could find a good clip from a movie or something, to record and sample later during a performance? Or does anyone feel like writing out a script for some commentary that I could get one of my friends to record? That would be uber-cool. Thanks folks.
Max

Youtube is pretty good, but finding commentary from the track isn't that easy. maybe you can get something from. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sp1kh5pDXjM&mode=related&search= or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkkTSVVrPYk&mode=related&search=

thanks peterm, those were both pretty good clips. a lot of the stuff you find on youtube is pretty low quality but these weren't so bad! I may use one.
I had never watched velodrome racing before and all I can say is... what a weird way to start a race!

There are several different types of events and both these happen to have somewhat strange starts, but there are also races that are simply raced over a distance and the first to finish wins.

Be careful about simply swiping a movie soundtrack, as it is somebody's intellectual property. It requires permission and likely public performance royalties.

When our surf noir band (www.vegas-beach.com (http://www.vegas-beach.com/)) played at Forest City, we had to work out signals with the announcer. Try asking the promoter and the announcer for permission to record a few races so you'll have plenty of material to choose from.

What band do you play in?

try some of these: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=velodrome

or post something over at fixedgearfever.com and someone can record something at their local race for you or maybe pull something out of a cycling video if you don't mind it being in dutch or flemish.
