Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello from Tumwater, Washington State! I've been spending this past year attempting to become a regular rider again, and have been using a Giant Suede-E electric assist bike for my recreational and (occasionally) commuting needs. Very interested to see if there are other power assisted riders on these forums. I've had a hip replacement that now necessitates that I watch the kind of athletic endeavors I take on - and had a dislocation this past year, so I'm beginning to learn towards a recumbent trike, (possibly electric assist). I have three other bikes I'm converting to power assist, using hub motor kits and a Currie USPD drive unit. Would love to swap experiences and learn about riding triumphs and challenges.

Welcome to the forums! I am a run of the mill roadie but we share the same passion. I don't have any experience with power assisted bicycles but the title of your post caught my eye.

I'm sure that there are some people here who can help you with converting a bicycle. After all, I think the 75,000 member joined not too long ago and someone's bound to have some advice.

Hi Mark, you will find that there are more than a few people here who have had hip replacements--Hipcycler instantly springs to mind.

I see you have found the Pacific Northwest regional forum!

Welcome to BF!
