I hope to have the bike complete by Spring the rest of the 1st gen C-Record kit is on the way.. but man she is looking good.. I think......;) The frame is a SLX tube 57cm frame... and Cinelli 66/44 deep drop bars the old school without the cable grooves:).. and the wheel will be replaced with some campy hoops that will have c-record hubs very soon.. I hope you guys like it. it sure takes a while to build one of these old rigs from the ground up.. but WELL worth it! they just don't make them like this anymore..

Rory, thats a kick-ass looking bike man. I'm with the other poster in wanting to see a closer look at this beauty. 1st generation 'C-Record' puts it late 80's (i think), so will you be using record DT shifters?
Columbus SLX is some great tubing, and you should be proud. :D
btw ~ I sure hope you're not going to use those yellow tires when you're finished. :D

Thanks guys.. No the wheelset is going they are simply something roll on until the period correct wheelset is complete. I am going with Campy hoops and C-record hubs.. it has taken a while to get this far as good condish Campy parts are hard to come by and bring a primo price as well. Yes the Delta brakes will be going on it I have a link to a pair of NOS so I am sorting that deal out. I'll try to take some pics of the bike closer or larger but the MAX for pic size here seems to keep rejecting my pictures. I'll try once more later.. I have to run off now to class. Thanks for the kind words on the rig. GREAT pic as Sean " The King" Kelly is my favorite rider of any era!!!

Rory - I swear there's a gorgeous bike there somewhere - I can just smell it.
Unfortunately, my 46 year old eyes can hardly see it.
What say you let me take some photos of it when it's finished? Just for the love.

Cool bike Rory!
Just curious, are there any initials on the left chainstay, just behind the BB?
Looks like an MTB stacked.
If so, that would be one of my paintjobs.
I painted quite a few of those color schemes, back in the day.:D
Again, sweeet bike! And definetly BIGGER pics!;)

Rory, Get a free account at www.photobucket.com and upload the fullsize images from your computer. it's totally self explanatory then just cut and past the image line underneath the uploaded photo... I looks like this url here... so we can all have a closer look. I have been thinking about a C-record bike myself... I only have a RD and hubset missing a skewer and shifters and brake levers.. I still have a long way to go but am just waiting for the parts to come to me.

I'll take a look.. Do you mean the initials look like MTB stacked on one another or did I miss something?
What does MTB reference? I'll take a look if you mean your initials look like MTB..
Thanks again guys for the kind words of encouragement on the bike it's a slow thing but it's all working out... I simply love the 1st gen C-Record stuff.. and it looks FANTASTIC on this bike but man it's not cheap!

I just sold an GREAT pr of C-Record cranks on ebay for $65.00 shipped they were 172.5's.. in GREAT condish minus the small ring. They cost me much more than that.:(
I say keep the dream alive.. I too have been going at it slow... but in the end this bike will be well worth it.

Finding cranks over 170mm is harder too, I would like to find 175mm cranks or larger but I don't think I have ever seen C-record cranks that long..

Rory is your Concorde made by Ciocc or something else? To put in a larger pic, use the little insert image icon (square with a mountain in it) instead of the paper clip icon, and it will just paste a full sized pic in the text..
