Okay I have lived in Colorado all my life and most peoples perspective of Colorado is that we are under snow for all winter. Well if you live west of Denver this is a true statement but normally Denver is mild, I mean we are a high desert right? :)

Well for the 3rd week in a row we have been hit with snow. Now I just bought my car 2 years ago February and I like it, but this morning I was ready to drive to the dealership and trade it in for something better, until my boyfriend told me that his truck was sliding around too. :)

We still have snow from our last two huge storms. The snow is still packed on our streets. Now we are to get 3-6 more inches of snow today and its blowing snow.

Someone please turn the snow machine off, let us melt alittle. :D

Okay that is my rant for the day.:)

Everyone around here is complaining about having no snow. Damn skiers! I love this snowless winter with 50F temps! I feel for ya, though. Just send all the snow back to Canada, eh.

70!!!! Are you serious?? WAH!!!!!!

Mirona, Seriously I could start selling this stuff if I wanted.
Its good for the skiing industry yes and overall Colorado yes, but as for biking well the poor little bikes are collecting dust on them.
Boyfriend finally took his mountain bike out and rode it around the neighborhood just to get on it. :)

Snowy,

I have a very good friend who lives in Gunnison (arrowhead park?) down past Crested Butte.
Gorgeous area but dayum they get alot of snow ( the passes are closed Nov thru mar. ?).

I hope the temps come up a bit for ya to turn off the snow
but down here in texas we sure need the rain and all these systems your getting
meander down here.

Might I suggest a Toyota Landcruiser or a Landrover Defender?

If I were in snow country, and had the dough, I'd likely go with the vw touareg (V8 or the V10 TDI). All wheel drive, lots of low end torque, and enough clearance for most situations without the high center of gravity of beefier SUVs. Marty's suggestions are good if looking for something larger yet.

I can only hope that some of that snow run off eventually finds its way down our way, of not the systems that dumped it in the first place.

We had snow here once.......I remember it well. It was 1979 and I was 9 years old. It melted as soon as you touched it.....couldn't make a snowman no matter how hard we tried. Oh....and I think there were record car accidents that day because nobody knew how to drive on slightly icy roads.

Yeah I'll be looking around for sure. Right now I think we are going to put studded snow-tires on my car. The thing is this winter has been odd.

Yes, I hope we can send all the moisture to Texas too. I know alot of states are in drought situations. :(

Yeah and it was 51 BEFORE SUNRISE! This is Indiana fer gawds sake, it's supposed to be cold and snowy.......not that I'm complaining mind you! I like the cycling in shorts or knockers in the winter!:D

EDIT: Knickers, not Knockers....but I like them too!:p

After struggling through last year's very mild winter with summer tires on my car, I decided I'd just get some snow tires this year. Boy am I glad I did, highly recommend that you get some, snowy!

Look on the bright side snowy. At least you didn't get the ice. I've never seen so many electric poles down in my life in sw Kansas. Some people have been without electricity for a week.

We'll get the rest of the storms snow as it blows through today.

I'm sick of the weather too. I logged quite a few miles in Jan & Feb last year because the weather was so mild.

Yeah, Western Kansas has been nailed this year. While here in the North Central part of the state we have had basically a mild winter, so far. (winter is only a couple weeks old) Based on media coverage of that storm I'm guessing that it is either a slow news week or most Kansans have never seen a Black Hawk Helicopter. Everywhere you look, you find coverage of the National Guard air dropping hay bales for the starving cattle.

I run in the winter anyway, but it's more enjoyable withough the white stuff or the chance of one of my ear falling off from the cold.

Yeah you can't run in this stuff unless you have snowshoes on. :) Its too icy and too deep.
And unless you like running in the street, all the sidewalks are still covered, then running is kinda out.

How about all the cattle you guys are losing from all that snow. That's a sad story.

I also saw video of a guy standing on the roof of a place looking for help. Eerily remindful of Katrina victims.

I haven't sent my studs back to Nashbar yet, want em? ;)

Yes, its horrible. Our cattle Southeast of Denver are in terrible danger. The snow is so deep and the winds are bad that they can't get to the cattle to feed them. Its really sad. I try not to think about it cause its so depressing.
This will effect tons of people.:(

Yeah, you guys are getting hit hard this year. Send some of that white stuff my way. As far as 4WD purchasing. No better than a front wheel drive if the person is no good at driving. Actually FWD does better in some situations than the 4WD.

We do alot of off roading in the mountains here and you would be surprised what a regular vehicle compared to a off road can do. Now in the hands of a experienced driver and off roader..........4WD is like a tank!

Where I live:

There is a Winter Storm Warning from 8pm tonight to 5pm tomorrow. Snow
accumulations will be 5-9 inches. Winds will be from 25-35 gusting to 55 miles per hour.

Should be a rather mild one it looks like. :)

2 inches of snow and OKC pretty much shuts down. I can't imagine being in Denver right now. If however some it could be sent this way as rain we would really appreciate it.
