Hi,
I only do lite touring, but I weigh 250. So... I need a good tire.
Last few years I have been using Rivendell Ruffy Tuffys and I love them.
But the rear tire don't last a whole season of riding anymore now that I am riding
about 2k a year. (Hopefully more next year)
So I am looking for a tire that is a little bit bigger and a litle bit tougher.
At the top of my list is the Panaracer Pasela TG 32c. It weighs less than the Ruffy Tuffy, but has a good rep.
Next in line is the Schwalbe Marathon Racer 30c. It is only a couple ounces heavier than my old tires at a claimed weight of 370 grams, but looks tough. You can see a review of them here...

Vittoria Randonneur 32c is another potential choice. But I think they may weigh another 1/4 pound more than the Marathon Racer. I am not familiar with this brand.
The new Continental Top Contact 32c has a claimed weight of 550gr and suppodedly has new tech in it like Vectran. It's not even out yet that I can tell.
Tempting, but I haven't been a fan of Conti tires in the past.
There are other possiblities, but that should give you an idea of what I am looking for.... a 30 to 32c tire between 400-600 grams, comfy ride but not slow. If such a tire exists!
