And it was a freaking blast. Easily 1000 times more fun that messing around the neighborhood (which is still fun). I'm starting to wish I'd bought a more race-ready frame, but pushing heavy stuff only makes you stronger, right?

Does anybody here race? Or at least hit a track sometimes?

I've never raced competitively, but a friend did, and we would practice together at one of the local tracks a couple years back.
Its a blast once you really learn the track and where to pump, and what sets can be hit like doubles.
Full on sprinting for the entire track just wipes me out though =D

i go to the track once in a while. Its a lot of fun even though it kills me to pedal through the whoe thing.

Pretty much this.

Street is funner anyways, and park is easier around here, so I just do that instead.

And they're more fun and dangerous

We have a track here, and I've been there a few times, but I'm not very good at riding it... Still pretty fun sometimes though.

Especially in the part of town our park is in.

I raced until I moved back to the states. It's fun, but flat out for 45 seconds is hard work at my age. And there were guys in my class (Masters) that are in their 50s. You're never too old to race.

I went to foothills this weekend. Before X-mas I went to Falcon BMX in Meriden. Totally different feels. Foothills is a lot tighter, way less room between bumps/tables and turns. You can ride Meriden with a MTB and it still rolls pretty well. No way you can do that foothills.

Riding all out for 45-50 seconds is super-hard! I'm in pretty decent shape, and I was absolutely shattered after every lap.

Lol, one of my best friends race. I've raced 2 or 3 times. I got 2 seconds's and 1 third. I may race sometime pretty soon. I use to have a race bike but got way to small for me. But i use my friends like haro sv group 20 or something like that. Its really awesome!

BMX practice makes you feel you. Racing makes you feel old.
