Strange question, I know but does anyone know of any good bike friendly route from redondo beach or so into Simi Valley? I want to ride to the Reagan Presidential Library for this school thing so I don't have to sacrifice a ride o go to this thing.

Just curious, thanks.

Lot's of possibilities, up the bike path until Temescal Canyon and then north on PCH. From there pick your canyon. An easy one for directions is Topanga Canyon north to Santa Susana Pass Road, up and over and you are in Simi.

If you want more climbing or less traffic, let me know and we can work out a route.

Uh, thanks that's great.
Of course less traffic would be nice if a route ould be found, thanks.

I live in Moorpark and go through those Santa Monica Mountains a lot. Is this on a weekday? (commuter hours) if so, I would take quieter paths. If it is a weekend or outside of commuter hours, then Topanga is fine.

If you do not want Topanga, you have lots of options. Since you are going to the Reagan Library, you really don't even need to go through Simi.

I might do

PCH to Decker
Right on Decker to Mulholland
Right on Mulholland to Westlake
Continue straight as it turns into Westlake (Mulholland veers off to the right, don't take that)
Westlake all the way past 101 and then a little climb followed by a (one mile?) descent. At the bottom there is light, turn left
Continue to Erbes
Right on Erbes to Olsen
Right on Olsen, under Route 23, continue on another mile or two. Reagan Library will be on your left

Another possibility with less traffic and less hills

PCH to Encinal
Right on Encinal to Decker
Right on Decker to Mulholland
Right on Mulholland to Westlake/Mulholland fork. Go straight as it changes to Westlake, the right fork continues as Mulholland, don’t take that.
Westlake to Hampshire (traffic signal)
Left on Hampshire to Willow (the signal just before 101)
Left on Willow, It meanders around under Highway 101 as it turns into Conejo School Road). Continue straight on Conejo School Rd to Hillcrest (traffic signal)
Left on Hillcrest to Erbes (traffic signal)
Right on Erbes to Olsen (traffic signal)
Right on Olsen, under Route 23, continue on another mile or two. Reagan Library will be on your left

If you didn't want to use PCH you could go through the San Fernando Valley to Santa Susana pass to Simi. You could use some of the bike path and make your way to Ocean in S.M., to San Vicente, through the VA hospital to Sepulveda and over into the SFV.
